1.0 Hour Ethics CLE Webinar
Live online CLE webinar experience by Alta Pro Lawyers Risk Purchasing Group
Lawyer well-being influences ethics and professionalism, but the path to well-being can be hard to follow in these turbulent times. Lawyers must find and follow a path to well-being not only to meet the ethical duty of competence their profession requires, but just as importantly, to thrive in their personal lives. This program will provide a candid look at the current threats to lawyer well-being; how to work with neurobiology rather than against it; and provide practical tools and practices for improving lawyer well-being.
The ABA is making lawyer well-being a priority in 2025, updating and building on the landmark 2016 ABA-Hazelden Betty Ford study that forms the basis of this program. Patrick Krill (J.D., LL.M, M.A.) and his research partner Justin Anker (Ph.D.) from the University of Minnesota Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences are leading the new study. State bars across the country will partcipate by conducting anonymous random member surveys.
The practice of law has changed significantly over the last decade, with new developments from Covid to AI increasing the stress lawyers face every day. As we await the new ABA report, this program examines the findings of the 2017 ABA National Task Force on Lawyer Well-Being and offers practical ways to implement the recommendations of the Task Force in your professional practice. We will highlight key Rules of Professional Conduct and emphasize best practices for your personal and professional well-being.
